About the Role:

The VP, Financial Infrastructure and Optimization, is a senior executive responsible for architecting and optimizing Geotab’s financial infrastructure. This leader will own major corporate P&L centers, including $100M+ in annual third-party technology and connectivity spend, driving cost reduction, vendor governance, diversification, and billing integrity through disciplined, data-driven oversight. The role also serves as Finance Business Partner to the $30M+ global Marketing and Events budget, ensuring ROI and efficiency, and oversees key corporate services, including fiduciary leadership of People Operations benefits, ensuring programs remain scalable, compliant, and aligned with long-term profitability and Board expectations.

  • Strategic & Financial Leadership - Translate corporate strategy into a clear financial roadmap, leading global planning, forecasting, and performance analysis. Partner closely with the executive team and Board, delivering high-quality reporting and data-driven insights to inform critical business decisions.

  • Billing, Vendor Governance & Cost Optimization - Own financial oversight of Geotab’s largest cost drivers, including Google Cloud (~$6M/month) and major telecom carriers (~$3M/month). Drive cost reduction, technology diversification, billing integrity, and COGS governance through rigorous modeling, reconciliation, and enterprise-wide profitability initiatives aligned with fiduciary standards.

  • Financial Systems & Operational Excellence- Modernize and automate financial systems and processes, building scalable infrastructure to support global growth and increasing complexity while fostering a culture of operational excellence.

  • Strategic Business Partnering (Marketing & Events) - Serve as Finance Business Partner to the $30M global Marketing and Events function, driving pre-approval governance, budget discipline, efficiency, and ROI measurement across major investments.

  • Fiduciary, Governance & Corporate Oversight - Act as executive finance liaison to People Operations, leading governance of global benefit plans (Health Insurance, 401K/RRSP) to ensure compliance, cost control, and scalability. Oversee global audit, internal controls, real estate, facilities, lease management, and in-house services across North America, EMEA, and APAC.

  • M&A & Integration Leadership - Partner on corporate development initiatives, leading financial due diligence and post-merger integration. Drive system, process, and team alignment while delivering targeted acquisition synergies.

  • Team Leadership - Lead and develop a global finance team, setting clear KPIs and building deep business acumen, accountability, and high performance across the function.

About You:

  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including 7+ years in senior leadership (VP/Sr. Director) within a global technology or SaaS organization (private or public).

  • Executive-level leader with experience overseeing large, multi-functional finance teams and setting long-term strategic, governance, compliance, and performance direction.

  • Tech-fluent strategist with deep experience in Cloud-first environments (Google Cloud strongly preferred), able to translate large-scale data (e.g., BigQuery) and complex technical concepts into financial strategy and cost optimization.

  • Proven architect of growth, designing financial strategies and organizational structures to support hyper-growth and M&A.

  • Systems-oriented operator who builds scalable, automated processes for global expansion and operational efficiency.

  • Inspirational people leader with a track record of attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.

  • Decisive, forward-looking executive with strong judgment in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.

  • Deep M&A expertise, including financial due diligence and post-merger integration across multiple transactions.

  • Experience managing finance within a multi-billion-dollar, multinational organization.

  • Strong proficiency with modern ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP), BI tools (Tableau, Power BI), and financial planning platforms.

  • Exceptional communicator, capable of influencing C-suite leaders, technical stakeholders, and external partners.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA/CFA and/or MBA preferred.

  • Must be open to hybrid work environment with HQ in Oakville, Ontario.
