About the Role
1-800-GOT-JUNK? is in the middle of a multi-year transformation. This is not a theoretical shift—it is actively reshaping how they prioritize, build, and deliver value across the business. The organization is evolving into a modern, multi-product, digitally-enabled platform. This includes rebuilding core customer and franchise experiences, launching new digital products, and simplifying how the ecosystem operates end-to-end.
Reporting to the Director of Program Management within the Strategy & Transformation team, this role sits at the centre of that change. We are looking for a Senior Program Manager who owns outcomes—someone who can drive clarity in ambiguity, force trade-offs, and ensure their most critical initiatives (“Bets”) deliver measurable business impact. You will operate as the connective tissue between strategy and execution, ensuring priorities translate into progress—and that progress translates into real value for the business and franchise partners.
Program Outcome Ownership: You translate strategy into execution, challenge misalignment, and ensure teams stay focused on the highest-impact work.
Decision Clarity & Trade-offs: You operate comfortably in ambiguity. You surface trade-offs, push decisions to the right level, and ensure progress is not stalled by indecision.
Dependency & Risk Management: You actively identify and manage cross-team dependencies while removing bottlenecks and maintaining momentum.
Operating Model Discipline: You establish standards for planning, sequencing, and delivery across teams—balancing structure with agility.
Cross-Functional Alignment: You work across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Enablement teams (GTM, Readiness, L&D) to ensure delivery is aligned with business readiness.
Performance, Insight & Accountability: You translate complex data (progress, risk, cost, outcomes) into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders—from teams to executives
You will lead programs tied to some of the most critical transformation initiatives across the business, including:
Rebuilding core digital customer experiences (e.g., fixing broken booking journeys, enabling self-serve functionality)
Consolidating fragmented systems into simplified, unified platforms
Launching new digital products and applications, including:
Franchise partner platforms
Customer-facing apps
Internal operational tools (e.g., for field/truck teams)
Supporting the shift from single-service to multi-product offerings (e.g., future services like curbside pickup)
Enabling loyalty programs and recurring revenue models
Driving the transition from off-the-shelf tools to custom-built platforms
About You
You thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and are motivated by solving complex problems. You influence without authority, hold stakeholders accountable, and are comfortable challenging leaders to drive the right outcomes. This is a “get it done” role in a transformation environment.
5–8+ years of Program Management experience in product-led or technology-driven environments
Clear distinction between program vs. project management (you’ve owned outcomes, not just delivery plans)
Experience working within or alongside Product Operating Models
Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with real business impact
Strong experience partnering with:
Product
Engineering
Operations
Delivery / GTM teams
Ability to challenge senior stakeholders and drive alignment without formal authority
Strong business acumen—connecting delivery to customer experience and financial outcomes
Systems thinking—ability to identify patterns, bottlenecks, and opportunities across teams
Experience with tools like Jira and Confluence
Curiosity and excitement around AI and leveraging it to improve ways of working and delivery
Exceptional communication skills—able to simplify complexity and influence at all levels
Must be located in Vancouver and open to hybrid work
