Business Development Representative
Toronto, Ontario
Loop Financial
https://www.bankonloop.com/en-caLoop is Canada's only truly cross-border banking platform built for growing businesses. Founded in Toronto in 2022 as an evolution of Lending Loop, Loop identified a gap that no one was solving well: Canadian SMBs were getting crushed by high FX fees, slow international payments, and banking infrastructure that hadn't caught up to the way global business actually works. So they built the alternative.
The platform gives businesses access to real multi-currency accounts in CAD, USD, GBP, and EUR, no-FX corporate credit cards, no-fee global payments to 130+ countries, and FX rates that used to be reserved for Fortune 500 companies. Everything in one place, set up entirely online, with transparent pricing and no fine print. The average Loop customer saves $40K a year and 12 hours a week — numbers that land hard in a sales conversation.
With $10M+ CAD raised, 3,000+ businesses on the platform, and $2B+ transacted to date, Loop is moving fast. Named one of BetaKit's Most Ambitious Companies in 2025 and one of Fintech.ca's 10 Canadian Fintech Startups to Watch, the growth is real and the momentum is building. The commercial team is expanding to match — and this BDR hire is part of that push.

About the Role:
Loop's product sells itself to anyone who's ever lost money on an FX conversion or spent hours chasing a cross-border payment. The challenge isn't the pitch — it's getting in front of the right businesses at the right moment. That's where this role comes in. As a Business Development Representative, you'll be the first point of contact for businesses that could genuinely benefit from Loop — importers, exporters, manufacturers, ecommerce operators, and any Canadian SMB managing money across borders. You'll own outbound prospecting, build pipeline from scratch, and pass warm, qualified opportunities to the closing team. It's a high-activity, high-energy role that rewards hustle, sharp communication, and a genuine curiosity about how businesses operate.
You'll report directly to the Head of Growth and be part of a commercial team that's actively shaping how Loop goes to market. For someone early in their sales career who wants to learn fast and grow quickly, this is the right room to be in.
Please note: this role is fully on-site, five days a week at Loop's Toronto office.
Outbound Prospecting & Pipeline Generation
Own top-of-funnel pipeline across Loop's core customer segments — Canadian SMBs in manufacturing, ecommerce, import/export, and other cross-border verticals
Execute high-volume outbound outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn — finding the right contacts and getting them to engage
Build and maintain targeted prospect lists using tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, or equivalent
Test messaging, track what converts, and iterate — you're not just executing, you're helping refine the playbook
Qualification & Handoff
Run discovery conversations to understand a prospect's current banking setup, cross-border pain points, and fit for Loop's platform
Qualify leads against ICP criteria and hand off clean, well-documented opportunities to the closing team
Keep CRM records accurate and up to date — every touchpoint logged, every deal stage current
Market Presence & Vertical Focus
Develop fluency in the manufacturing and cross-border trade space — understand the buyer, their pain, and how Loop solves it
Support event and conference outreach (Loop has been active at trade shows like StoneTech Canada Expo) — follow up on leads and convert event conversations into pipeline
Stay current on FX and cross-border banking trends to hold credible, informed conversations with prospects
Team Collaboration
Work closely with the Head of Growth to align outbound activity with broader GTM priorities
Share field intelligence — what objections come up, which verticals respond, what messaging lands — and bring it back to the team
Collaborate with marketing on outbound sequences and campaign follow-up
About You
1–2 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or outbound sales role — in fintech, FX, SaaS (SMB-focused), or selling into manufacturing or cross-border trade verticals
You can hold a confident, credible conversation with a business owner or finance lead — you're not reading from a script
Strong outbound fundamentals — comfortable cold calling, writing cold emails, and prospecting on LinkedIn
CRM proficient and disciplined about pipeline hygiene
High energy, high activity — you don't need to be managed closely to hit your numbers
Toronto-based and fully committed to an in-office environment
Genuinely curious about how businesses operate and how financial tools can make a real difference
Bonus:
Direct experience in FX, payments, or cross-border banking
Familiarity with the Canadian manufacturing or import/export landscape
Experience prospecting into finance, operations, or founder personas at SMB companies
Bilingual (French/English) an asset
The Extras That Matter
Competitive base salary of $55K-$60K + commission — real upside tied to pipeline performance
Comprehensive health and dental benefits
Five days a week in-office at Loop's Toronto HQ — a high-energy environment with a team that moves fast
Direct access to the Head of Growth — you'll learn from people who are actively building the GTM motion, not just managing it
Clear path for growth as Loop scales its commercial team
A product with a real, measurable value proposition — $40K saved per year is a conversation-opener, not a claim you have to defend
Join one of Canada's fastest-growing fintech companies at a moment when the team and the opportunity are both expanding
