QA/QC engineer - Abliene - Oracle

Position Summary

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all construction activities, materials, and systems meet stringent quality standards across Tier 1 through Tier 5 mission critical data center infrastructure. This role is embedded on the Oracle Stargate Project in Abilene, TX, one of the largest and most advanced hyperscale data center builds in the United States. You will drive quality compliance from foundation through commissioning, interfacing directly with construction managers, trade contractors, and commissioning teams.

Key Responsibilities

•       Develop, implement, and maintain project specific QA/QC plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and checklists aligned with owner specifications and industry standards

•       Perform daily field inspections of MEP systems, structural work, and critical infrastructure installations across all tier levels

•       Review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings for quality and specification compliance

•       Conduct root cause analysis on non conformance reports (NCRs) and drive corrective action to closure

•       Coordinate with third party testing agencies for concrete, steel, electrical, and mechanical system testing

•       Verify installation of critical power systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, and battery storage to OEM and project specifications

•       Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, and applicable local codes for mission critical facilities

•       Maintain detailed quality documentation, punch lists, and turnover packages for each phase of construction

•       Interface with the commissioning team to ensure systems are installation verified (IV) prior to functional testing

•       Participate in readiness reviews, pre-functional checklists, and owner acceptance walkthroughs

Qualifications & Requirements

•       2+ years of experience in QA/QC on mission critical data center construction or battery/energy storage plant construction

•       Prior hyperscale data center experience strongly preferred (AWS, Oracle, Meta, Microsoft, Google)

•       Deep understanding of Tier 1 through Tier 5 data center infrastructure and redundancy requirements

•       Working knowledge of MEP systems in critical environments including medium voltage switchgear, chilled water plants, fire suppression, and BMS/EPMS controls

•       Familiarity with commissioning processes (Cx) and how QA/QC integrates with Cx workflows

•       Experience with quality management software and digital punch list tools (Procore, BIM 360, Fieldwire, or similar)

•       Strong documentation skills and ability to manage large volumes of inspection records and turnover packages

•       OSHA 30 certification required

•       ASQ CQE, CQI, or equivalent quality certifications are a plus

•       Able to work on site full time in Abilene, TX
