Estimator
We are seeking a Construction Estimator to support the preconstruction phase of commercial and industrial projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate project cost estimates, coordinating the bidding process, and supporting project teams throughout preconstruction.
The ideal candidate will work closely with subcontractors, project managers, and design teams to ensure projects are competitively priced and aligned with project scope, schedule, and budget requirements. For design-build pursuits, this role will also assist in guiding the design process to maintain cost control and project feasibility.
This position can be based in our Allentown, PA, Burlington, NJ, or Newtown, PA offices.
Estimating & Preconstruction
Manage the bidding process from inception through completion for assigned projects
Develop conceptual estimates, GMP estimates, and lump sum bids
Analyze subcontractor bids including solicitation, leveling, comparison, and evaluation
Assist in preparing detailed scopes of work to support the estimating process
Provide pricing support for major change orders and project revisions
Project Coordination
Assist with subcontractor buyout and support project management teams during project startup
Maintain accurate project cost data and vendor information within the company’s estimating database
Participate in subcontractor and vendor prequalification processes
Vendor & Industry Relationships
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors to support competitive bidding and project success
Stay informed on construction materials, pricing trends, and industry developments to support accurate cost forecasting
Preconstruction Support
Review project documents including specifications, general conditions, and schedules to understand project requirements and risk factors
Ensure project estimates align with design intent, construction methods, and project constraints
Required
3–5 years of experience in construction estimating
Experience estimating commercial or industrial construction projects
Strong understanding of construction management processes including bidding, estimating, purchasing, and subcontractor negotiations
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred
Experience with heavy site or civil construction
Familiarity with design-build project delivery methods
Experience with estimating software such as Maxwell Pro Contractor
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
Strong organization and attention to detail
Commitment to delivering accurate and timely estimates
