Administrative Support Specialist - Visitor Center - Buckley Space Force Base (APA63/64/65) - AWS Denver
Buckley Space Force Base, Aurora CO (Denver metro) - on site full time
Roles 1 and 2 — Visitor Center Administrative Support (x2)
Position Context
These two individuals will be placed at the Visitor Center to provide dedicated administrative
support for contractor access processing on the Blue Marlin project.
This is not a customer service role. The VC operates under strict protocol: forms submitted late
are not processed, access dates are enforced as written, pickup scripts must be followed
exactly, and no exceptions are made regardless of urgency or executive pressure. Personnel
must be comfortable denying access — including to senior personnel — without offering
workarounds, without explaining the VC's internal reasoning, and without escalating on the
contractor's behalf.
Ideal backgrounds: military administrative specialist, federal agency admin (TSA, USCIS, VA,
courthouse, DMV), law enforcement records, or any regulated-environment role where rule
enforcement — not accommodation — was the primary function.
Job Description
Role Title
Administrative Support Specialist (Contractor)
Overview
Support the Visitor Center in processing access requests for construction contractors.
Responsibilities include reviewing long and short term access forms, tracking credential
expirations, briefing contractors on exact VC pickup procedures, communicating denials, and
coordinating with the PE on form corrections, revocations, and roster management.
Core Responsibilities
• Assist with any administrative task requested by the VC.
Review form submissions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance; reject and
return incomplete forms with specific correction instructions
• Verify submitted names match official government-issued ID exactly — flag and hold
any mismatch; names must match records
• Monitor credential expiration dates across the active roster; notify PE and GC at least 2
weeks in advance of lapses — expired credentials are denied at the gate without
exception and cannot be renewed on the spot
• Maintain the active access roster; cross-reference weekly against GC manpower
reports
• Coordinate DBIDS revocations promptly; send to 460SFS.VCC.VCC@us.af.mil with
correct CC chain
• Maintain organized records of all submissions, approvals, denials, expirations, and
correspondence
Required Qualifications
• 2+ years of administrative experience in a government, military, law enforcement, or
federal agency environment
• Demonstrated ability to apply and enforce rules consistently without making exceptions
under pressure
• Strong attention to detail — comfortable catching errors in names, dates, ID numbers,
and form fields
• Clear, professional communication — able to deliver denials calmly, firmly, and without
over-explaining
• Comfort handling repeated confrontational or frustrated interactions without becoming
defensive
• U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain access credentials
• English language fluency required
Preferred Qualifications
• Military service or military administrative experience
• Prior experience at a DoD installation, federal courthouse, TSA, USCIS, VA, or similar
regulated-access environment
• Familiarity with DBIDS, RAPIDS, or similar DoD access credentialing systems
• Experience managing high-volume form processing under strict, non-negotiable
deadlines
• Experience with background check or adjudication processes
What This Role Is NOT
• Not a customer service role — contractors will push back on denials daily; the
expectation is firm enforcement, not accommodation
• Not a role where finding a workaround is valued — the protocol is the job
• Not a flexible-hours or remote role — on-site presence at Buckley SFB, weekdays,
0700-1500
• Not a liaison or advocate — does not call the VC on a contractor's behalf, does not
investigate denial reasons, does not interpret VC policy for contractorsJuly 30, 2026
