Legal Innovation Attorney / Corporate Practice Innovation Attorney
Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, LA, Miami, NYC, San Diego, Bay Area, Washington DC, Madison, Milwaukee, Tampa, Denver, Detroit, Orlando
$130,900 - $245,500
You know corporate deals from the inside. You’ve watched hours go to the redline that looks a lot like the last one, the checklist rebuilt from scratch, and the precedent nobody can find.
This role lets you fix that across an entire corporate practice.
What’s in it for you
Build, don’t bill. This is a business professional role with no billable target. Your JD and deal experience are the credential, and your output is better ways of working.
Early in the build. The firm is building out a small team of practice innovation attorneys. You’d help shape what the role becomes, not inherit someone else’s playbook.
The tools are already there. Harvey, Microsoft Copilot and Legora are in place. Your job is making them useful to deal lawyers, not lobbying for a budget.
Real access. You’d sit with practice leadership and the innovation team, working directly with partners on where AI actually helps.
The practical stuff. Hybrid (3 days in office) in any major U.S. office. Pay ranges by market up to $245k, plus a percentage bonus.
What you’d actually do
Redesign corporate workflows: playbooks, clause libraries, templates, automation
Turn AI from “we have licences” into prompts, use cases and workflows lawyers use
Run training and pilots, and win over the sceptics
Help the deal teams show clients what tech-enabled delivery looks like in pitches and RFPs
Own projects end to end, from idea to rollout to proof it worked
You’ll likely have
A JD and several years in corporate practice at an AmLaw firm, in legal innovation or KM, or a mix of both
Real hands-on time with legal AI tools. You don’t need to have built a platform. You do need to have pushed one further than most.
Credibility with partners and the patience to drive change in a law firm
How to apply
