Innovation Lead AI Developer / Senior AI Engineering Lead

Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking an Innovation Lead AI Developer to join its Innovation Engineering team, building intelligent products and data-driven solutions that improve quality, speed, and decision-making across legal work and firm operations. This is a lead individual contributor role owning technical direction, architecture, and delivery quality for a workstream within the firm's AI portfolio, while remaining hands-on with the most complex and novel engineering work.

What You'll Be Doing

• Defining architecture, platform choices, and engineering standards for an AI workstream

• Developing the highest-risk or most novel components and reusable templates and libraries

• Reviewing designs, sequencing engineers' work, and serving as escalation point for architecture decisions

• Leading build versus adopt assessments and technical diligence on vendor platforms

• Leading discovery and roadmap discussions with partners and practice group leaders

• Mentoring developers at multiple career levels and contributing to shared standards

About You

• At least nine years of experience delivering software or AI solutions in professional services or legal environments

• Advanced Python skills and deep production experience with RAG pipelines and agentic workflows

• Experience designing and operating LLM evaluation frameworks in production

• Experience with CI/CD, monitoring, and secure deployment using Microsoft Azure or a comparable cloud platform

• Experience in a law firm or legal technology environment preferred
