Southeast Regional Sales Manager
Southeast
$100,000 - $130,000
CONFIDENTIAL OPPORTUNITY BRIEF
Regional Sales Manager
Southeast Territory | First in Market | Report to the President
Industrial Robotics | German Engineering | 30+ Years Global Market Leadership
You've built the relationships. You've hit the numbers. So why does it still feel like someone else controls your ceiling?
Most top automation reps aren't failing. They're just stuck — locked to one manufacturer's product line, selling into the same automotive accounts, watching their territory get redrawn every 18 months by someone who's never carried a bag.
This role is the opposite of that. A blank territory. A 30-year global brand. Every robot on the market is your customer. And you report to the guy who used to do your job.
THE ROLE AT A GLANCE
Title: Regional Sales Manager — Southeast
Territory: SC, NC, GA, with expansion throughout the SE and possibly Texas (with room to expand)
Reports To: President, U.S. Operations — direct report, no layers
Structure: Individual contributor — first SE hire in company history
Travel: 30–40% — customer sites, trade shows, integrator visits
Start: ASAP — territory is open and the clock is running
THE COMPANY
For more than 30 years, our client has been engineering the hardware that makes robots do their jobs. They are the global standard in End-of-Arm Tooling — the grippers, robotic tool changers, 7th-axis transfer rails, compliance wrists, load limiters, and force/torque sensors that sit at the business end of every industrial robot on the line. Built in Germany. Compatible with every major robot brand on the market. When a manufacturer's line has to run without fail, this company's products are what make it happen.
They are not a startup and they don't operate like one. With 20 patents, 24 global distributors, and decades of credibility in the automotive sector, they have the foundation. What they're building now is the U.S. operation. Two years ago, a new President took over the American business with a direct mandate: build the team, diversify beyond automotive, and open new markets. He came from sales. He has carried the bag. He built the culture from scratch — and the culture he built is one where your results matter more than your hours, and your input shapes strategy.
"We want you to go to your son's baseball game at 4 and know you can go to the dentist at 11am without burning a PTO day. That's not a perk — it's how we operate." — President, U.S. Operations
The Southeast is wide open. Automotive is the entry point, but the roadmap runs through aerospace, food and beverage, medical device, and general manufacturing. The person who takes this seat gets to write the playbook — not inherit one.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
The Southeast territory — SC, NC, GA, TX — from day one. No predecessor, no playbook, no ceiling
Your own prospecting strategy, built around plant operations contacts and engineering influencers across the region
The full sales cycle — from targeted outreach (with BDR support) through close — on complex, custom robotic solutions with 6–12 month timelines
Relationships with system integrators — the referral network that compounds your pipeline over time
New verticals. This company wants out of automotive-only. You have a mandate and the support to go find them
A direct line to the President and visibility to the European CEO — your wins get seen at the top
THE COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Base Salary: $100,000 – $130,000 (flexible for the right background)
Total W2 Potential: $160,000+ realistic in year one

Car Allowance: $500/month ($6,000 annually + per-mile reimbursement)

Additional: Pet Insurance, Norton LifeLock, STD/LTD, and more
Year 1 note: When you hit your first anniversary, the company picks up 100% of your health insurance premium. No action required. That's an automatic $2,000–$5,000 raise built into the offer structure.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
This is not a fit for everyone. The profile is specific — and if it sounds like you, you'll know.
4+ years in industrial automation or robotics sales. You know the ecosystem — robot OEMs, integrators, end-users, and how they all connect
EOAT, tool changers, or peripheral experience is a strong plus. If you understand the automation stack and learn product fast, that works too
You've sold to plant operations and engineering. You know how to switch between a business conversation and a technical one without losing credibility in either room
You see a blank territory as a blank canvas. Not a question mark — an opportunity
Positive by default. No baggage from the last company. No complaining about what someone else did wrong. The President was specific: he wants someone he'd grab a beer with and who knows how to move forward, not backward
Automotive roots with an appetite to diversify. Your existing network is your launch pad. Your curiosity about other industries is what takes you to the ceiling
Degree preferred but absolutely not required. Documented quota performance matters more than a diploma

THE PATH FORWARD
You are the first sales hire in the Southeast. That is not a small thing.
The company is in active U.S. growth mode. As new territories open, so does the org chart. The President has been direct about it: the right person in this seat is the natural first candidate for Director of Sales when that role is created. You won't be waiting in line behind people who got here before you. You are the line.
You'll also have European CEO visibility from day one. This isn't a remote field rep role where you exist in a vacuum. You're building something the parent company is watching — and they are watching it grow.
THE INTERVIEW PROCESS
Fast, structured, and no black holes. Here's how it runs:
Step 1: Virtual call with President and/or Cory, Director of Business Development — they want to know who you are, not just what you've sold
Step 2: Second, more in-depth call with President and/or Cory, Director of Business Development discussing sales process and sales methodology
Step 3: Brief conversation with an IPR Consultant, an outside consultant brought in as an additional perspective
Close: Decision within 2–3 weeks of first conversation. They move when they find the right person
READY TO HAVE THE CONVERSATION?
You don't have to be ready to leave. You just have to be curious enough to spend 20 minutes finding out if this changes the math.
