Founding U.S. Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager
Texas, USA
$120,000 - $150,000
CONFIDENTIAL CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Founding U.S. Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager
Precision Servo Motors & Motion Control | Global Motion-Control Manufacturer
Dallas–Fort Worth, TX | $120,000 – $150,000 Base + Uncapped Commission
THE HOOK
Every senior sales engineer in motion control eventually hits the same wall: someone else already built the territory, someone else already capped the commission plan, and someone else's name ends up on the business they grew.
This role removes that wall entirely. A global precision motion-control manufacturer is opening its first U.S. operation; its motors are already proven inside automation systems running across four countries, and it needs one person to build the entire American business from zero, with uncapped commission and a direct line to the CEO.
ROLE AT A GLANCE
Title: Founding U.S. Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager
Territory: Dallas–Fort Worth and the state of Texas, expanding nationally as the business scales
Reports To: CEO, directly — no layers in between
Location: Dallas, TX
Travel: Variable, driven by account activity and pipeline stage
Structure: Full-time, direct hire, individual contributor with a mandate to build a team as revenue grows
THE COMPANY
Our client is a global manufacturer of precision servo motors and actuators, built on decades of motion-control engineering. Its motors already run inside automation systems used across Korea, the United States, Europe, and Israel, serving robotics, industrial automation, semiconductor equipment, medical robotics, aerospace, and defense customers.
For years, the U.S. market has been served indirectly through distributors, while some of the most advanced robotics and industrial automation manufacturers in Asia have quietly built their systems around this company's motors. Demand already exists. What's never existed is a direct U.S. presence to convert it into owned accounts.
That changes now. The company is opening its first American operation in Texas, and this hire is the first person on the ground, reporting directly to the CEO, with the mandate to build the business, the relationships, and eventually the team.
"We offer something that larger, established competitors often cannot: the opportunity to build a business, influence strategy, and grow with the company from an early stage." — CEO
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Every OEM and system integrator relationship in the U.S. market, built from zero
The market-entry strategy for an entire country, not a slice of an existing plan
Technical ownership of servo sizing and application analysis, from first conversation to production launch
The direct working relationship with engineering leadership overseas, translating U.S. customer needs into design wins
The foundation of the U.S. commercial organization, including who gets hired next
THE COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Base Salary: $120,000 – $150,000, based on experience
Commission: Uncapped, tied to annual revenue growth, new customer acquisition, and strategic account wins — no plateau, no cap
Year-One Plan: $2,000,000 in revenue, 10 new customers, and 5,000 units sold to hit 100% of plan
Deal Size: $50,000 to $500,000 per account, with strategic opportunities exceeding $2,000,000
Health Benefits: Included, competitive with other industrial automation employers in Texas
PTO: Included
Additional: Direct influence over how the U.S. organization is built, including future hires
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
If you've opened OEM or system integrator accounts from nothing, and you're tired of doing it for someone else's commission cap, this was written for you.
Proven experience opening new OEM or system integrator accounts from zero, not managing accounts someone else already built
Deep technical fluency in servo motors, motion control, or industrial automation — enough to hold your own in a room with engineers
A track record of running full B2B sales cycles from first conversation to signed production business
Comfort building a market with no playbook, no territory map, and no one telling you what to do next
An entrepreneurial streak that shows up as action, not a line on a resume
THE PATH FORWARD
The first 12 months are about building the pipeline: key OEM and system integrator relationships across Texas, a qualified list of strategic opportunities, and the company's first wins on U.S. soil.
From there, the path is as big as the results. As revenue scales past the first $2 million and the account base grows, this role is positioned to grow into the U.S. commercial leader, building and running the team this hire starts alone, with a direct line to the CEO the entire way.
