Senior Shopify Developer

About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing DTC brand in the pet health space. The client operates at real scale, moves fast, and expects the people on the team to take full ownership of their work.

Role Overview

This is a remote Senior Shopify Developer role. This person will own the technical execution behind the client's DTC business, personally building, improving, and maintaining the Shopify storefront, landing pages, integrations, and internal automations. This is the person the team turns to whenever technical work needs to get done, from launching a landing page and fixing a Shopify issue to connecting SaaS platforms or automating an inefficient process. The mission is to help the client move faster, reduce dependence on external agencies, and improve the efficiency of every department through ecommerce technology and AI automation.

Responsibilities

- Storefront ownership: Own the development and technical health of the Shopify storefront, including themes, sections, product pages, landing pages, advertorials, and test variants.

- Design to code: Translate approved designs into responsive, conversion focused Shopify pages.

- Integrations: Manage Shopify integrations, APIs, webhooks, and app conflicts, and support subscription and post-purchase systems like Skio, AfterSell, and PDQ.

- Experimentation: Implement and maintain experiments through Intelligems or comparable tools.

- Technical troubleshooting: Diagnose storefront, mobile, performance, tracking, and checkout related problems.

- Safe deployment: Maintain safe development, QA, deployment, version control, and rollback processes.

- Automation: Build reliable automations using AI, APIs, and tools like Make, Zapier, or n8n, and identify inefficient workflows across Growth, CX, Finance, Operations, and Creative.

- Documentation and backlog: Document important systems, monitor automations after launch, and keep the technical backlog prioritized with clear deadlines and status.

Who They're Looking For

- Strong experience working as a developer for DTC ecommerce brands.

- Advanced knowledge of Shopify as a CMS and ecommerce platform, including themes, Liquid, applications, checkout, subscriptions, and third-party integrations.

- Strong Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS skills.

- Experience with Shopify APIs, webhooks, and custom integrations.

- Comfortable with GitHub, staging, QA, deployment, and rollback.

- Able to diagnose unfamiliar technical problems independently.

- Strong understanding of AI automation, and how to use AI, workflows, and reusable frameworks to improve company processes.

- A hands-on builder mentality. Executes personally rather than automatically outsourcing the work.
