Director of Growth
Delray Beach, FL - hybrid
$120,000 - $150,000
About the Company
Our client is a direct-to-consumer clean-living brand built on a simple promise: one trustworthy place to buy low-tox products, so customers don't have to vet ingredients across a hundred different sites. Every item is screened against a house standard that excludes hormone disruptors, artificial dyes and sweeteners, inflammatory oils, and other common toxins. The company runs two layers: a curated marketplace of vetted clean brands, and a growing in-house line led by its flagship supplement , the proof that the company can build products, not just resell them.
Role Overview
This is a Head of Growth role, hybrid preferred in Delray Beach, FL, contract-to-hire, reporting to the founders. The founders have long been the strategic marketing brain of the company. The founder's own audience already does the hardest part of the work, her followers trust her, and that trust converts the middle and bottom of the funnel better than any ad could. That trust has carried the brand to roughly 170,000 customers, but it doesn't scale past the reach of one audience on its own.
This is a strategy and leadership role, not a hands-on execution seat. This person leads through agencies rather than an internal team, working alongside the finance team, who own and monitor the budget while this person optimizes against it and reports what's achievable. This person owns the plan, the numbers, and the partners who deliver them.
What They'll Own
- The growth roadmap. Sets the strategy for customer acquisition across every channel and owns the plan that takes the brand from mid seven figures to an eight-figure run rate, profitably.
- Revenue and efficiency accountability. Owns a blended CAC and MER target and reports against it. Finance owns the budget; this person optimizes against it and reports what's achievable.
- Creative strategy. Directs the angles, hooks, and creative direction that agencies and creators produce, grounded in what actually converts.
- Agency leadership. Leads the creative, paid media, lifecycle, and influencer agencies as their single point of strategic direction and accountability.
- The ecommerce customer journey. Owns the path from first touch to repeat purchase across the Shopify store, including subscription and loyalty.
- Lifecycle marketing. Owns email and SMS strategy as a profit center, not an afterthought.
- Marketing analytics. Owns the numbers that tell where the next profitable dollar comes from, and makes the call.
What Success Looks Like in 12 Months
Measured by outcomes, not activity. In the first year:
- Moved the brand to an eight-figure run rate profitably while holding the blended CAC and MER targets set and reported against.
- Built a functioning top-of-funnel acquisition engine that grows new-customer volume without relying on founder-created content for every win.
- Scaled the flagship supplement as a standalone growth driver, with a clear acquisition and retention model behind it.
- Raised repeat-purchase and subscription revenue as a share of the total through a lifecycle program owned directly.
- Turned a set of managed agencies into a coordinated growth system with clear scorecards, so spend maps to profit.
- Given the founders a marketing operation they can trust to run without them.
Who They're Looking For
- Has owned growth or performance marketing for a DTC brand at a comparable stage, with the numbers to prove what was scaled.
- Thinks like an operator. Can read a P&L and identify where the next dollar of margin comes from.
- Directs agencies well. Knows how to set strategy, hold partners accountable, and get great work out of people not managed directly.
- Fluent in paid social and search across Meta, Google, and TikTok, and understands how organic and founder content feed paid performance.
- Understands lifecycle: email, SMS, subscription, and loyalty as levers on profit and retention.
- Comfortable owning a CAC and MER target publicly and being measured against it.
- Supplement, CPG, or Shopify experience is a strong plus, as is comfort with the compliance sensitivity that comes with a supplement line.
What They Won't Be Doing
This role is deliberately not a hands-on manager seat. If the following sounds like a downgrade rather than a relief, this isn't the role:
- Not in ad accounts buying media or building campaigns directly.
- Not editing creative, writing every email, or running the day-to-day of a channel.
- Not executing the work the agencies are hired to execute. This person directs it.
