Demand Planner & Forecasting Analyst

About the Company

Our client is a direct-to-consumer health supplement group with two brands and customers across the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the UAE. The company manufactures, markets, and ships physical product at scale, with a subscription-first commercial model. Roughly 90% of revenue comes from subscribers, and that base is compounding month over month. This is a full-time, W-2 role, fully remote anywhere in the US. Leadership is based in New Zealand, so West Coast or Mountain Time makes for an easy late-afternoon overlap, though other US time zones are open for the right person.

Role Overview

This is a new Demand Planner & Forecasting Analyst role, remote (US), West Coast or Mountain Time preferred. It exists because demand has gotten too layered to plan by feel. Subscriptions sit underneath one-off orders, welcome kits, rollover gifting, and multiple product cohorts. With manufacturing lead times of several months, every forecast turns into a real purchase order and a real cash decision. This person will own that connection day to day. Focus is the flagship brand, with occasional support for the sister brand. This person will report to the COO and work closely with the Ops and Performance Manager, who runs the manufacturer and 3PL relationships, and with finance. They'll inherit a detailed forecasting workbook and make it better, helping shape how it evolves as new inventory tooling comes in.

Responsibilities

- Rolling demand forecasts: Build and maintain 12 to 24 month forecasts across every product line and cohort, accounting for subscription retention, rollover behavior, one-off order patterns, and marketing-driven demand shifts.

- Subscription cohort modeling: Model how welcome kit changes, single vs. double kit variants, and milestone gifting ripple through inventory needs over time.

- Supply planning: Turn the forecast into PO timing and quantities, working hand in hand with the Ops and Performance Manager who owns manufacturing and logistics.

- Model ownership: Own the forecasting workbook, improve it, and guide how it moves onto new MRP and inventory tooling as it's adopted.

- Forecast accuracy: Track forecast against actuals and keep refining assumptions on retention, subscription vs. one-off mix, seasonality, and promo impact.

- Inventory balance: Keep inventory lean by balancing safety stock, lead times, and working capital so both stockouts and overstock are avoided.

- Cash flow alignment: Partner with ops and finance so demand plans line up with cash flow forecasts and supply schedules.

- Early risk flags: Call out stockout risk, overstock, SKU mix shifts, and the impact of new market or formulation launches before they land, and recommend what to do about them.

Who They're Looking For

- 3+ years in demand planning, S&OP, or inventory and supply planning, ideally at a DTC, subscription, CPG, or FMCG brand.

- Has planned for a subscription business and understands how retention, churn, and cohort behavior drive unit demand.

- Has worked hands-on in subscription software like Skio and knows how subscription and rollover logic actually behaves in the platform.

- Has experience with Shopify and an ERP such as Fulfil.io.

- A strong Excel or Google Sheets modeler who can inherit a complex workbook and make it sharper.

- Can explain the model in plain English so founders and operators trust it and use it, not just look at the output.

- Pairs analytical rigor with commercial judgment and can say what the numbers mean for the business.

- Works well directly with founders and operators.
