Why people take this seat
Visibility. You work in the same room as traders, quants, and executives. Your work gets noticed.
A mentor who knows the industry. You’ll work next to a seasoned NYC engineer who handles market data and trader tech support, and you’ll learn Bloomberg, trading-floor systems, and how traders actually work. Those skills are in demand across finance.
Breadth. In a small shop, you’ll touch identity, endpoints, trading systems, remote access, and recovery, instead of one narrow slice of a big queue.
A way into finance. Learn how a regulated, audited firm handles access, patching, and recovery, plus industry-specific tools like Bloomberg that travel with you to your next role.
A path up. The firm’s CFO started as a fund accountant, and its CTO started as a data analyst. People who step up get promoted.
Real trust. You’ll handle sensitive information and be given the room to own things early.
You’re a fit if you:
Have 1-3 years in desktop support, help desk, or IT ops. Strong internships and hands-on projects count too.
Have worked in Active Directory (users, groups, permissions, password resets)
Know Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Teams, and Outlook well
Have touched a patching or endpoint tool like KACE, SCCM, or Intune
Are comfortable with RDP, VPN, and troubleshooting remotely
Can use PowerShell for basics and want to get better at it
Genuinely like helping people, and you stay calm and professional when someone’s trade is waiting on you
Can be trusted with confidential information
Don’t wait to be told what to do next
Nice to have, not required
Bloomberg terminal or financial services experience
A regulated or audited environment
An IT certification
The practical stuff
On-site in NYC. Not remote or hybrid.
Occasional after-hours work for patching windows and restores
You’ll move equipment and work in server rooms and wiring closets
A couple of days a month, you may hop on Metro-North to the Connecticut office
Who thrives here
