VP of Retail Business Development
Remote, USA
Lead the full lifecycle of enterprise retail partnerships for a rapidly scaling, AI-powered commerce platform. Own strategy, outreach, dealmaking, and joint go-to-market planning with major U.S. and European retailers. Partner closely with analytics, insights, product, and retail media teams to build data-driven solutions that drive incremental revenue for both retailers and brands.
Identify, qualify, and engage retail partners by diagnosing pain points and mapping high-value data, media, and omnichannel opportunities.
Build executive-level relationships and lead the full deal cycle from strategy through close.
Co-develop automated workflows leveraging content, sales, and media data to benefit merchants and brands.
Translate shopper, loyalty, and media insights into commercial recommendations for merchandising, marketing, and category teams.
Collaborate with product, data science, and client services to shape data and analytics solutions that meet retailer goals.
Negotiate commercial agreements, drive revenue, and oversee partnership execution.
Lead business reviews and deliver insight-driven narratives to influence senior retail stakeholders.
Develop strategic account plans and guide a small cross-functional team through execution.
Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred.
10–12+ years in retailer business development, retail analytics, shopper insights, or commercial partnerships (backgrounds from top analytics, consultancy, or shopper marketing groups strongly preferred).
Proven track record opening doors and closing enterprise retail partnerships.
Deep understanding of retail ecosystems—loyalty data, in-store activations, retail media, and omnichannel measurement.
Strong analytical thinking with the ability to convert insights into commercial narratives.
Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
Entrepreneurial, results-oriented, and able to influence at senior levels across retail and CPG.
Nice to Have:
Experience with major retail media networks.
Familiarity with clean rooms or data collaboration environments.
Background leading insight-to-activation projects across in-store/digital.
Experience mentoring teams focused on retail partnerships or insights.
Exposure to modern analytics/visualization tools.
Base salary: $191,000–$262,000 (levelled by experience & location)
