As a Safety Advisor, you will serve as the primary health and safety resource for member clients, delivering consulting, coaching, and on-site assessments that advance workplace safety culture and compliance. You will help companies implement effective OHS programs, develop action plans, and access the full suite of safety tools and training. This role blends client service, program development, and advisory expertise—ideal for an experienced safety professional who thrives in diverse environments and values meaningful impact.
Act as the main point of contact for member clients, supporting all available OHS programs, tools, and training.
Deliver briefings, education sessions, and engagement strategies to promote safety leadership and employee buy-in.
Conduct needs assessments, develop safety plans, and provide hands-on support implementing safety management systems.
Participate in OHS team meetings, contributing to planning, workflow improvements, and communication strategies.
Provide insights and feedback on program performance and member experiences.
Complete required safety and professional development training.
Develop resources, content, and best-practice programs to support industry safety compliance.
Collaborate with Training, Resource Development, and Marketing teams to enhance outreach and education.
Contribute to sector-specific tools and regulatory guidance.
Report to the Associate Director of OHS Services.
Work closely with fellow Safety Advisors and cross-functional teams.
Maintain strong external relationships with members, industry contacts, and safety professionals.
Remote role based in the Okanagan.
Mix of home-based work and on-site client visits.
Frequent travel within the Okanagan, plus periodic travel across BC for site visits, events, and staff meetings.
Effective delivery of safety support services, including baseline assessments and actionable annual plans.
Successful educational sessions supported by strong member feedback and follow-up engagement.
Bachelor’s degree in OHS, Health Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
5–7+ years of experience in OHS advisory, consulting, occupational hygiene, or similar roles.
Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, CSA Standards, and COR/ISO frameworks.
Experience in manufacturing environments (e.g., food & beverage, wood processing, metal fabrication) is an asset.
Proven background in program development, coaching, mentorship, and regulatory compliance.
Strong grasp of organizational dynamics and how safety impacts performance.
Skilled coach and mentor with adult-education insight for training design.
Effective consultant with strong relationship-building skills across all levels of an organization.
Highly organized, resilient under pressure, and able to make sound, evidence-based decisions.
Valid BC driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently.
