Founding Platform Engineer

We’re partnered with one of Canada’s fastest-growing data/telematics startups - to help them find a Senior Platform Data Engineer who’s passionate about building reliable, scalable systems that power massive real-time data experiences.

As a Senior Platform/Data Engineer, you’ll architect and optimize the core data platform end-to-end - from streaming and storage to enrichment and analytics - collaborating closely with engineering, product, and technical leadership. You’ll bring strong system design skills, precision, and engineering discipline to every detail, ensuring scalability and reliability across their high-volume API.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in platform or data engineering

• 4+ years designing and optimizing data pipelines at TB–PB scale

• Proficient in Java with clean, maintainable backend coding practices

• Strong system design skills across big data, streaming, and real-time workflows

• Experience with Kafka, Flink, Spark, and lake-house architectures (Iceberg/Delta/Paimon)

• Collaborative mindset with excellent cross-functional communication skills

• Based in Toronto, ON (Hybrid: in-office for collaboration and connection)
